The Great American novel might be Moby Dick or Huckleberry Finn or Grapes of Wrath. The English might say something by Dickens. If I’m traveling to Copenhagen in a few months and want to read a novel that is a window into Danish culture and mind, what would you suggest? (Reading Hans Christian Andersen is already on my list too!)
