I'm trying to research the basics of the decline of CD-ROM, I know that it happened in the mid/late 2000s corresponding with the rise in Internet gaming and platforms like Steam, but I'm struggling to find any hard facts about specific dates when major games companies phased out CD-ROMs and moved to digital only releases. If anyone knows any good information or can point me to somewhere I can find out more, it would be really appreciated.
