To take good outside night shots press somewhere to focus and slide the brightness slider all the way to minimum. It will look slightly too dark before taking the photo. Take the shot and after processing it will become a bit lighter again. This way you get more realistic pics that better reflect the mood. Much better than the standard artificially created day light look. Additionally exposure time becomes less reducing the chance of blur.
