I've tried to use the HDR on my AW3423DWF multiple times now with the result being, that I switch back to non HDR every time. I don't know what it is but for me HDR (especially HDR 1000) just looks grayish and undersaturated.
I especially noticed this when playing Elden Ring.
As you can see in the two pictures the colors are completely different.
Besides the colors being, in my opinion, way less saturated, HDR also changes the red blood flame colors to a very orange like normal fire color.
Also when playing genshin with HDR on the game is just way too bright that you can't even call it playable.
I've noticed these changes also in normal desktop use. E.g when i just looks at my windows settings tab, having any HDR enabled, the usually black/gray window has a slight orange tint to it.
Is there a way to fix this or is that just how HDR works/is ?
Has this something to do with SDR enhanced games or will i also encounter such problems when i play something like RDR2 with seperate HDR support.
i have tried using the Windows HDR calibration app, but that app is totally buggy for me (sliders disappear while trying to calibrate).
