Being recognised by the government
Let me elaborate
Being neurodivergent (any mental "illness") has less recognition then being a man/woman in a woman/man's body. Hormones are reimbursed, operation is reimbursed, doctor appointments are reimbursed
Neurodivergent needs that are reimbursed: fuck all. Up to 24 psychology visits in your whole life!!!!! Up to! Depending on what mutuality you're in. Whole life, go once a month to a psychologist for 2 years. And that's it. You're cured now. BUT: only reimbursed for non private psychologists, but since a year or so, over half of them aren't anymore because the pay is too low. What is the amount that gets reimbursed: €11 per session. Totalling €+-250 your whole life! If you find an acknowled therapist for your neurodivergent needs.
Medications: not reimbursed. I pay €150 each month alone to be functional. I see €0.0 back. I have to eat and shit out again €150 every month! (Technically every 28 days, because you can divide that by 7 AND CORPORATE GREED).
And my absolute biggest problem: LGBTQI+ has an actual working community that gets things done. Here in the land of autism, you have Autisme Vlaanderen that will help you get aid. But won't do fuck all about recognition and being accepted. Don't host events for the broad public to educate them about it. I'm not saying they are useless. It's a great thing to have, but it's the absolute bear minimum. I support them 100% but it's not enough.
Peace out
