Sub/Forum sliding (lemmy.whynotdrs.org)

Not sure if other people feel this way, but currently when I go browse the other community on Reddit there's barely anything over there related to GME. It's all about macro-economics and stuff.

It's like the mods there are trying to decouple the sub from GME, to make it easier to gloss over DRS -> book the shares. We knew this was going to be a long game, and that they can fund effective psy-ops and forum sliding wars. Would love to see more activity here instead of having people closing themselves off on private channels in Discord to combat this.

I know that chatting on Discord or other communication channels like Matrix/Telegram is funnier but c'mon guys, some of us don't have the time for that and would love to talk with you as well. And we need to uild a solid community here to be an alternative.

Agreed all around.

If someone is reading this, let's all try and make an effort to comment and post here more often.

That's what it's going to take.

But it would be good if there's no side-tracking about other stuff. I feel that in the other forum they're always spamming stuff about UBS/FTX and other macroeconomic stuff to a point where there's barely any talk at all about what really matters!

This one is growing. I personally don't think there is a concerted effort from ss mods to jack that sub up. I think it's just slowing down in a natural way. More apes are zen? at least that is my thinking. I am using occam's razor here. What is more likely? a mod conspiracy or a more natural explanation? I made my own post here complaining about ss mods recently, but after talking to the guy directly, I attributed my incident to human behavior x internet and took down the post here - because I don't want to have a negative post generally detracting from another ape channel. Positivity takes time to build and gain momentum. A little negativity can quickly erase that.

I think it's important to stay positive and give other ape channels the benefit of the doubt. Worrying that everything is captured just shuts down activity imho.

Totally agree with this sentiment. I think it's one of those: "If we build it they will come situation". We just need to continue to engage and develop content specifically on Lemmy for it to build. Already we are seeing great increases in subscriber numbers, we just need to foster and promote engagement.
