there kinda is a thin line between taking a pic for the memory and just turning every moment of your life into the next photo op.

I don't take pictures or videos of the concerts I've been to because I know it'll never replicate how it felt to be present. I do however take dozens of photos of my adorable toad because I know I won't be able to see her anymore at some point and I'll have the photos to look back on.

I'm afraid I'm going to need to see those photos. It's the law 🥰

Perfect. It's quite possible my husband will take that for a wallpaper 🥰

It's funny because there's pictures all throughout history (obviously only after the invention of photography) of people doing the exact same kinda shit with cameras and newspapers.

Lines of people sitting on benches nose deep in newspapers.

Every slight historical event was surrounded by cameras.

People have been buried in devices/distractions forever.

Forever is quite the hiperbole. Though I see your point.

Having said that...

Growing up, going to concerts or shows, I don't remember a single camera among the audience. Or when we lived through an earthquake in the 80s. Not even a beeper.

Yeah I intended this image to mean "this is the only person living" as in... The only person alive... I should've also removed the word "living" because it seems like just cutting off "in the moment" wasn't enough

Holy crap! I remember when this photo came out! I used to work with this lady in Boston at the Trader Joes! Gloria is such a sweet lady and she was so excited to see the premiere of Black Mass when it came out, and she just wanted a chance to see Johnny Depp, hahaha

The lady on the right is doing both. Smart lady.

Lady on the left is watching and just holding her phone

[–] [email protected] 1 points 7 months ago

Fuck. I meant on the right.

Not for long.
