At least it looks like he knows where claws should work...on the post and not the couch! π

Its likely he can't with those long threads. Consider replacing that scratching post. A cat could lose a few claws in that
He gets stuck on anything and everything when he uses his claws. Blankets, couch, cat toysβ¦ He has other posts not as wooly as this that heβll be on. Agreed I do need to shave and refinish this post though
Do you clip his claws? If my wife and I don't clip our cats claws like once every 2 weeks or so they get stuck on stuff too.
How old is that scratching post? I've had the same one for my cats for almost 10 years and it's not nearly that beat up looking.
Sisal carpet is better than rope for cats is my understanding. There are some places online that sell carpet remnants for cats. You can just hot glue the carpet to a cardboard tube on or an existing cat post.
I have an orange who would probably manage to get his claws stuck in solid Teflon if he found some.
I have 2 brothers and one can't unhook. Tries to pull your pants down. And the annoying part is he's the one that haaaates having his claws clipped.
My poor late kitty could never fully retract her claws.
As a kitten, she'd catch a claw on the carpet, somersault, and scream until I freed her. This continued through adult hood, minus the screaming. She'd just flop on her side and tug until she freed herself.
She ended up with bad arthritis in her old age. I long expected she had some defect in her front claws, but she was an absolute disaster at the vets, so I never got a diagnosis.
Yeah, my calico is super careful to never extend her claws when playing with me, but she will get her claws in her toys and just look at me or flail wildly until it flys away, even with her nails trimmed π
my cat didn't learn to unhook her claws until she lived with other cats and could see how they did it. was cute how much she learned from living around them for a while
My cat can open doors. Any door. It scares me
This one has a 50/50 shot if the door already open a crack. He always pulls the door towards him and will get confused when heβs blocking the door from opening further.
My cat opened the sliding door in the back of the house and the other cat got iout for half the day.
How sharp are his claws?
Not that sharp. I trim his nails about every 1-2 weeks
It's probably the nest he's made that's the problem then lol
