Firstly, I went to the old Subreddit and the last post is over 2 weeks ago. This community must be one of the first to totally abandon Reddit.

Secondly, to the point, I would love a premium ergo board, like the cornish zen. I see that Boardsource has an aluminum Lulu but its got about 20 keys too many for me. I'm currently using a Corne with 36 keys.

What are others thinking about premium boards? Or asked another way, what keyboards are you dreaming about today?

There are Cornish zen 3x5 extra going up sometime. You can join the discord for updates. Darryl is just waiting for components before putting the extras together

I’ve got one of those on my list

I'm waiting for this guy to come back in stock. The KA360 and Glove80 are also mega premium, imo.

I ordered the keyball39 during the last batch! But tbh I wouldn't say it's a premium emk.

Darn! Could you share your thoughts on it?

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I haven't received it yet, I'll make a post with more thoughts when I built it 🙂

But for me a premium keyboard should have an aluminum and/or a very well designed case. Whereas the Keyball boards uses a "simple" acrylic sandwich case. The trackball housing looks very well thought out tho.

Do you know if the maker has a twitter or something so we can keep up to date with it?

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

This is the maker's twitter account, he regularly updates when new stock is coming (in Japanese).

Holy shit that's beautiful. Do you have one?

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

I've got one from the first batch and it's great.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Have you shared pics of it before? I’d like to see

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

here's a picture I took after getting it

It's a great board but sadly it's just been sitting on a shelf. I need a more aggressive stagger on the pinky.

My universe for an aluminum Swoop case...

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Did the short trrs cable come with it?

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

no, it came with a longer one. This is some cheap one I found on aliexpress

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Oh I dig it! How aggressive of a pinky stagger are you looking for? I’m currently using a chocofi but was thinking about grabbing one of those for work.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

I like the pinky dropped .75U. I ended up designing my own keyboard to better for my needs.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Oh man, you made my wallet cry! I think this may be what I was looking for!

A no expense spared board board for me would be a skeletyl from bastardkb, maybe when in a metal printed case. Right now i have a Lagrange which is very nice, but i don't use all the (70) keys on my Lagrange so a 36 would maybe for me better.
If i was in the market for a flat board, then maybe one with a trackpad like the dilemma, but I'm very happy with my zilpzalp as a portable "throw in bag" laptop keyboard.

Ergonomic, split and other weird keyboards

Rules

Keep it ergo

Posts must be of/about keyboards that have a clear delineation between the left and right halves of the keyboard, column stagger, or both. This includes one-handed (one half doesn't exist, what clearer delineation is that!?)

i.e. no regular non-split¹ row-stagger and no non-split¹ ortholinear²

¹ split meaning a separation of the halves, whether fixed in place or entirely separate, both are fine.
² ortholinear meaning keys layed out in a grid
