Kroger is trying to merge with Albertsons, but it’s not going as planned. So Randall’s starts closing locations, and Kroger starts closing locations. Who knows what happens next. Personally I’d like to see more competition in the grocery space, not less.

I think the next disruption won’t be another grocery store (ie, Aldi). But I think it will happen once costs for vertical farming become sustainable.
Grocery stores are the middlemen between farmers and consumers. Skip the middleman. Buy direct from the farm. Plus the “farm” doesn’t need to use pesticides so product can be optimized for taste. Traditional meat will probably go away as well and lab grown alternates be available at your local vFarm.
Or maybe humans go instinct completely and fully replaced by advanced AI. No need for food at this point. All sustained on some form of electrical source (solar or even nuclear fusion lol). I don’t think this will happen in current generations lifetime, but who knows we might be surprised
Funny… I created an account to try out their delivery service but their prices and product availability were crap so I never ordered anything.
HEB, despite its warts, wins again.
Now that you mention it. I may have signed up because of a snail mail ad. But after signing up and browsing catalog, I may have had the same thoughts.
H-E-B was closer anyways so rather than pay the delivery mark up. I just drove to my heb
I don't hate Kroger and don't want to see them go but they can't hold a candle to HEB...
