Breadtube if it didn't suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.

I've definitely been feeling the "every consumer device has been figured out already but the corporations have to keep inventing bullshit to justify their existence" vibe for the past ten years or so.

It's middle manager philosophy. Not practically useful, but the job is justifying the job.

In the last 20 years, the major improvements have been:

  1. Smartphone

  2. Broadband speed Internet

  3. SSD

That's pretty much it. Everything else is minor or not actual improvements. Even going from CRTs to flatscreens isn't as big of a leap as people would think. Sure, CRTs are bulky as fuck, but it's not like modern flatscreens are exactly ergonomic or easy to carry. We haven't gotten to the point where someone could trivially carry around flatscreens like a purse. CRT to flatscreen is more like many small improvements (lighter, higher resolution, not a health hazard) which combined together leads to a bigish improvement, but I wouldn't describe going from CRT to flatscreen to be a major improvement.

that's basically an iPad mini (which macs can use some of the newer iPads as a display).
