I always associated crime with being a poor area problem which is why I find it so bizarre that San Franciso seems so bad, wouldn't high living costs and well paying jobs drive crime out of the city? Are the criminals that spend their days smashing car windows for a backpack renting $5k a month apartments? Or is the crime in the city overblown in the media?
