I ended up switching to Ubuntu, as I found networking with UFW (universal firewall) a lot easier to control, then I run Windows in a VM as needed.
Glasswire is very simple and the UI is porn . Not for nerds since it lacks advanced configs
Maybe Windows Firewall Control, (no, it's not the same thing)?
It's an interface to WFwAS, (Windows Firewall with Advanced Settings), completely free now since the original developer, Binisoft, was bought by Malwarebytes.
You can get it here: https://www.binisoft.org/wfc.php
Nice one. And with notifications. I'll try it. thanks!
There is also "Portmaster" (🤢) which is also available on Linux:
Personally I find it very hard to use and confusing so for Windoge I also use Simplewall as mentioned in another comment.
Without testing and watching only the demo it seems they're both not "active" firewalls.
Since i "test" a lot of softwarez i need an active pop up at every first connection attempt...
(sadly i'm stuck with Win for one single app not working on linux).
Have you tried Wireshark?
