I still look at the SC subreddit because there's not a lot of action here on Lemmy yet (just being honest). It seems like there's a lot of upset people these days.

We've been going through a pretty big dry spell for development, so I'm sure that contributes. I just wish people weren't so dramatic about it.

I haven't been back to the subreddit because that's more-or-less all it's been. Drama and screenshots. Reddit in general has been very toxic for a long time.

And yeah, I agree with being reasonable, which is why I like it here. There are plenty of games that I've been mad about, but I'm not wasting my life complaining about it.

People with a positive and proactive mindest tend not to linger when things get bad. These people find workaround to bugs (and log then to the IC) instead of complaining, and they leave social networks that are on a downward slope.

I'm not surprised that Reddit is becoming more negative and reactive than before.

Seems about normal to me. We just went through 3.18 and then the PTU wave thing. People go a little crazy over stuff like that. Plus the E:D community that came over after odyssey are due to turn sour about now.

The squad 42:II leak was pretty good. Real or not doesn't matter.

Like already annoying enough cr is playing with his little Hollywood buddies instead of making the game that was promised, but the fact that they're going to immediately dive into a search for curly's gold was just perfect salt.

Then the whole anti China outsource on top was a really nice dash of racism spice.

Just gave an opportunity for some vocal people to let everyone know who they really are.

Yeah what little we see looks amazing and it makes me wish they would actually show something this year at CitizenCon.

I think a lot of us didn't quite pay attention to what CRs vision was from the start. If you go back and look at Wing Commander 2, you can see exactly what he's trying to do. When he said "I want to make the game I didn't have the tech for before", he really meant motion capture and high def graphics, not necessary gameplay tech.

It's only going to get worse if SQ42 doesn't come out soon.

I have noticed a few rancid posts lately. I think they're getting upvotes a bit more is what's up. There's always been salty people but they usually get shouted down.

Maybe it's just most people are playing Baldurs gate and only the salty people are still stuck on SC 🤣

Honestly that's part of the reason I built this place. I want to drive a more positive environment for the community.

I have my own complaints about CIG, but I have a life and I'm still a fan. The community is the best part of the game anyway.
