I'm setting my expectations to middle-ground for the show because there's a lot of stuff in the books that frankly wouldn't make enjoyable tv.
How much hacking can you reasonably visualize before it becomes unwatchable, for instance? It works great in the books since it's inner monolog of the character's actions, but it's not likely to translate to screen.
My hope is that they have Martha Wells take the plot, characters, and setting and then have her reformulate it with the medium of streaming tv in mind.
