Is there a difference? Librarians vote along Republican lines and take the side of Republicans constantly. As far as I can tell, libertarians are just Republicans that don't want to openly be known as Republicans

Hey, don't bully the librarians like that. They're nice

Libertarians are just people who hate the government telling them what to do. Any time I've spoken to one this has been the biggest takeaway. What always blows my mind is that they think the government restricts them so much that its worth allowing capitalists to do whatever they want in the process. I see no faster way to a capitalist dystopia than this. This is even when considering that we are essentially doing this currently anyways, look no further than our tax code which makes the people at the bottom of income paying a significant portion of their income, and the people at the top have loopholes.

Maybe the libertarian idea is that is the capitalists will never be regulated or taxed, they should get the same luxury. I would at least understand this viewpoint, though I would never agree with it.

All of this is moot though, we have nowhere near any body of politicians large enough to affect change in favor of the people.

Get money out of politics!

I'm cautiously optimistic that he'll pull more moderate Republican votes than Democratic ones. Say what you will about his conspiracies and vaccine denial, but he's not even trying to market himself to the fascist "dictator on day one" crowd.

I think he's doing this since ballot access is very difficult to get as an independent in some states. On the other hand he's not actually gonna be able to do this since the libertarian party has no interest in him.
