I posted about OpenWISP a while back but I need to report that it is buggy and unpolished. The community behind it also is very small so not much happens.

Use Netbox templates instead maybe?

Thanks for reporting back. Every time I looked at it's features, I came to roughly the same conclusions. Glad you actually did the work to try it, though.
