I've been trying to get back into the Yugioh TCG, and I made the mistake of building Rikka Sunavalon as my first deck.

I'm getting the hang of the combos, but my locals really aren't that competitive, and I feel kinda bad bringing such a try-hard, "watch me play" deck every week.

What's a more straightforward option that is still relevant in this latest format?

Edited: added that my question is about the TCG

You could play Egyptian god suship, lines are pretty straightforward, it’s decently recursive and not competitive more low rogue. Or if you want a fun tricky deck, I’ve been getting into weather painter and it’s barely rogue but sometimes just pops off.

Hmm, good question. A deck that I would call "straightforward" is Floowandereeze . . . but I'm not sure you'll make many friends at locals if you play it!

Maybe try Swordsoul or Gold Pride? Swordsoul generally sets up two powerful synchros as an end board and feels strong but fair to play against. Gold Pride is just a cool deck with fun thematics that can still flex its muscles a bit.

I'll look into this one, that's what I heard from a friend as well wrt Floowandereeze. Swordsoul seems like another good option for what I'm looking for, I think.
