Boater grain hoarding kulaks exist in the word of TCGs it seems.

always have.

magic the gathering cards are worth a lot and they're not a regulated security so you can do all kinds of fraud and shit or corner the market on some obscure card from 1996 that you can't do with stonks, and the ROI is better and more reliable.

There was a guy who posted a bounty for an obscure card, bought massive amounts, and then reached to pro players to bribe them into including in tournament lists (last part failed, card was too mid).

Still, very funny

Fun fact: the shitcoin exchange Mt. Gox got its name from Magic The Gathering Online eXchange

Getting increasingly angry at every new re-printing of Monopoly, because it is driving down the value of the dollar-notes in prior editions.

Infinite ⌘C ⌘V on CCGs. No pity for artificial scarcity.

The reason why Magic the Gathering cards are valuable is because MTG is popular and thus people care about them. No one is going to give two shits about some dollar store knockoff. The sheer credulousness of these crypto bros where they'll buy into any scam on the promise that the Chuck E. Cheese tokens they'll get will be worth BILLIONS when everyone on the planet realises how cool they are

Much in the same way that I absolutely would download a car, I'd fucking reprint cards in a heartbeat if I were a tcg nerd

That shit only matters if you want to sell an actual card or play in "professional" rings. That's where they get their residual income flows anyways. What happens in the factory crap-it-all-ist dorks? Oh it's a shit ton of REPRINTING. Ever hear of common cards? Yeah you REPRINTED the shit out of those didn't ya you durty buggers.
