Okay, so

The controversial X account "Libs of TikTok" replied to Musk's tweet by citing a Daily Wire article from January, which said streamer Kara Lynne was fired from her job at a gaming company for reasons that included her following the account.

It caught the attention of Musk, who replied: "Kara, is that accurate?"

Lynne replied to Musk saying that the situation was more complicated than the headline suggested, but still confirmed it was correct.

One of the famous bigots that Musk wants to like him said some slightly misleading BS, and Musk wanted to sound cool to right wingers for attention and publicity.
