I'm new when it comes to Lemmy, is this community a replacement for 'Cesky'?
[email protected] is in Czech and will stay. This community replaces [email protected] for the reasons I mentioned in my post there:
Would "Czech", "Czechia" or "CzechRepublic" be a better title for this community?
Many Lemmy clients only show the name of the community, not what instance it is on. As such, posts like "Help on staying in Prague" in subscribers' feeds would appear to be posted to "English", which is not descriptive on its own. This is why communities like [email protected] are not called ~~meta~~ or ~~about~~, or why [email protected] is not called ~~main~~. Just specify the mandated language in the description and rules and it should be obvious that Cesky is in Czech while CzechRepublic is in English.
I'm OK with the name "Cesky", though, it's like the adjective "český".
