I have grandparents and I can 100% guarantee that they do laugh a lot.

84? Suppose that's about right, with some exceptions.

One factor seems to hit just after retirement, and the speed at which sense-of-humor dies correlates to the size of the retiree's front lawn... & the likelihood and number of neighborhood kids who might walk around on it.
