Why do we need to fight Diablo in every game? Do people not remember D1 and D2?

Spoilers. I made a joke to a friend early in the D4 campaign about how crazy it would be if you had a Diablo game where you didn’t even fight Diablo. I enjoyed the game and campaign but……. Where was Diablo? Lol
I speculate he will be the final.boss in the dlc. But yeah it was weird finishing a diablo game without fighting him at the end. I liked Lilith though she was cool
Sure was cool, but in all honesty, I found that she was a bit too easy for a final boss.
Especially for her opening line
you will know pain only glimpsed in myth
Then proceeds to repeat the same three moves over and over again.
That fight was something I’d expect from a random dungeon; not the final boss of a Diablo campaign
I agree with everything that you said. probably the way that go with it.
"Oh, let's make it an always-online multiplayer-mess-only kind of thing!" "Yeah, online-only worked great for the last game!" "Wait, wasn't that actually a huge-" crash
Big Red will likely be in the expansions along with Mephisto. Maybe Baal as well?
Alright Diablo community, what kinds of things can we assume about Blizzards plans for Diablo as a character?
We won't see him at all?
He will be in the secret cow level?
He will be the final boss of the final expansion so we can remember him as the ultimate villain of the series and not just 1/3 and we all know deep down that's probably the case but we just want to meme?
