A great show with such tragic endings to all the characters...

NBC blocked that video from playing in the US which does not make sense.
I really liked all the characters, but the way Cleavant Derricks' character was added was so dumb.
It was like they wrote the script and the studio was like: Well we need a more diverse cast, you can't have a show starring all white people, it's 1995 for crying out loud. So the writers went like: OK, somehow the portal boops over into the street, which it will never ever do again and swallow up a random dude in his car. Wait what happens to the car, does he just crash and die? Nah it'll be fine. OK obviously this is going to be a character of color, what do we call him? Mr..... Brown? Studio: Ship it!
And somehow everyone was totally fine with this?
Really loved this show back in the day!
...is this is radically different from what they do today? I mean, I guess today we'd just change one of the already planned characters rather than adding a new one specifically for the purpose of being the black friend (saves having to come up with ways to write them in if more than one episode has been planned so far), especially if this was an adaptation of an existing IP.
That said, I loved Sliders back in the day. Now I want to try to rewatch it, VR.5 and Lexx to scratch the cheesy mid-90s scifi itch.
One of my favorite shows. The show started out very well, then morphed into a shoot-them-up type show in the later seasons, which I did not like. But I stuck with it.
Too bad it went the way it did :(
I stopped soon after ::: Arturo died :::, idea started to get pretty stale by that point anyway. Still a great series in the early parts! Never did know if he managed to find his way home
