Also, the location on the LinkedIn job listing was a city nearby, even though I'm over 300 miles from SF. Fuckin' dumb.

It's hybrid because you get to work from home when we want you to work evenings and weekends!

I absolutely hate that. I've also seen many listings set as "Remote" but when you drill down into their description it's either like the above or "you must be within 25 miles of the office for occasional visits". LinkedIn should remove these listings and temporarily ban the businesses that do this type of bait and switch.

I've seen those and I usually try to report them. Not that it matters. By the time I see it, it says 832836268228847 applicants :/

Yeah, that's not remote, that's on-call. 😅

Apply anyways and waste their time too

When I'm feeling particularly spiteful, I quick apply to hybrid jobs I see that aren't hybrid and waste time until I get an email from the hiring manager about a first call. Then I tell them I just wanted to be sure they knew they had an incorrect posting and that I wasn't interested in a company that didn't understand modern workforce trends at best, maliciously baiting and switching at worst.

So far, 1 company has changed their wording, of maybe 20 I've gotten this far with
