Highlight new comments seems to work, but am I blind or is it not possible to have a new comment counter when browsing threads?

There's other apps that can show the counter, this one that seems to be the only one I have at the moment that actually highlights new comments, but not one that does both. :/

Am I also missing somewhere that can change the alignment of comment buttons? At the moment it's right aligned, but sometimes I'm holding my phone with my left hand or using my phone two handed, and I keep hitting the blank space instead, especially as the post buttons are not aligned so the expectation would be it's the same. Connect has a handedness option for comment buttons being off/left/right.
