Pakistani Military has been doing groundwork for months to ensure the election results. Forced abductions of politicians and journalists, threatening peoples families with physical and sexual violence and forcing/buying judges to disqualify and reject nomination papers for election. These elections are set to compete with 1965 general elections which were rigged beyond belief to ensure a win for military backed Ayub Khan. They tried to do the same in the 1970 general elections, and even though they initially didn't succeed, they didn't let the winning majority party to form the government by illegal arrests and violence and forcefully dismantling them, which resulted in riots and eventually allowed East Pakistan, aka Bangladesh to get independence from Pakistan.

REAAALLYY? Unlikely to be "free and fair?" Wow talk about going way out on a limb with a crazy prediction! I can make the same prediction with 100 percent accuracy with absolute certainty. Of course there is never going to be a free or fair election in Pakistan, it just isn't ever going to happen in human history.

I mean tbf Pakistan's election was supposed to happen last year lol.

At least plenty of countries actually get an elections.

Even India is considered a flawed democracy compared to Pakistan's "hybrid" regime

Makes me feel more appreciative of what we have left of democracy here in the U.S.
