Anything or anyone with "based" as part of the name can probably be banned on sight.
important instance shit
On the anecdotal examples I've seen so far, the .club TLD appears to be the same.
nah, lotsa good .club sites
mastodon is actually a marketing scheme by Big Janky Off-Brand Domain Name
there are various fediblock lists on the mastodonish side, has such a thing evolved yet for the lemmysphere?
and just wait until you (yes, probably you personally) unite lemmy and kbin!!
not yet to my knowledge, but lemmy is a little bit more siloed so I need to see if there’s a central place out there where admins tend to gather. also, I want to see how folks are doing automation around block lists on masto, so that we can get a shared blocklist going (kinda like antivirus but the viruses are fascists)
and just wait until you (yes, probably you personally) unite lemmy and kbin!!
oh god, has kbin been flooded with chuds?
not that i know of, but it's interesting that apps that do more or less the same thing and claim to federate can't actually do so
true! our kbin situation seems to be unique to our infrastructure (are we one of the only lemmy servers running behind a load balancer?), but federation bugs in general are really hard to fix and I’d love better tooling around it. maybe something like an ActivityPub health dashboard that’d flag issues with outgoing/incoming requests?
"i'll set up a Lemmy to play with," you told yourself, "I'll get some users on it cos I liked those subreddits," you told yourself, "it'll be easy," you told yourself,
I can assure you that much like that Kennedy quote startup founders keep stealing to justify their sub imploding, I’m not choosing to go to the Lemmy because it’s easy, but ~~to one-up the Marxist—leninists~~ because it’s hard
lemmy isnt finished until it's good enough that the rest of the fediverse wants to block lemmygrad
