No doubt we'll see Kyle return in future seasons as an evil Romulan transporter chief
According to this article the actor left SNW and his character will be replaced by another transporter chief (scroll down to the end).
Ah, thanks! I had indeed noticed the new transporter chief this season, wasn't sure if Kyle was going to make a surprise come back or not.
