submitted 1 year ago by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Hi

Hope english posts are okay here,i'm from another nordic country i don't want to say wich since i am trying to surprise my brother who lives in denmark and maybe he is on here. I want to buy him a gaming laptop and have it sent. Since El giganten is the only store i'm familiar with since it is in my country as well i am asking you guys for recommendations. My budget is around 7k DKK and he lives in the south of jylland.

Any and all advice greatly appreciated.

I suggest to not buy from places like Elgiganten. Try MM Vision or Shark Gaming instead.

Why not elgiganten? Are they expensive? Bad service?

You could check out proshop.dk. They used to be a little cheaper than the others electronic stores. Though I haven't kept up so not sure how it is with their price these days. But they are reliable.

Just use a price comparison website like Pricerunner.

I don't know much about this, but I think that komplett.dk might be another place to buy computers and parts.

I don't know if electronic prices are stable in Norway and Sweden, but you may be able to get a better deal with 7k DKK outside of Denmark due to the current conversion rates.

Also consider second hand. There is an insane amount decent hardware bought by rich parent for kids that loose interest or wants to upgrade. Often in very good condition.

For 7K you can get a somewhat limited gaming laptop. But if you want to proceed, I found Komplett to be a wonderful site for gaming stuff. Bought laptops and PC hardware there, with excellent customer service and good sales.

I found a decent one for 6500 in elgiganten it had 16 gb ram i5 processor 3050 etc etc.

That's enough for him to begin with i think.

However,i need a store that can deliver it to his door.

But thank you i'll check komplett out!

3050, anything with a 50 in it, is bottom of the barrel. And in a laptop too? (Laptop gpu’s are often considerably worse than their desktop counterparts. ) Yeah, I wouldn’t do that. Check some benchmarks before you do anything.

Look for a sale on Lenovo Legion. Bilka sometimes has them, but not at the moment. Something like this?
