I love these made up scenarios that never happened

Does it have to be real to be funny?
It has to be believable at least
As a fan of absurdist comedy: I wholeheartedly disagree.
Vote Zippy for president.
Throw me a bone... Seen anything good lately? I haven't laughed hard in months. Still looking for the next League of Gentlemen.
I think you shoukd leave is a funny show on netflix, but with most absurdist humor its much funnier after you watch it and then think back to it
Something new? Pfft. I wish. It's like that kind of comedy just dropped off the map; everything I see even in the category of "comedy" in the last few years is usually some sort of Romcom, or better categorized as something else (like Action for a Marvel hero movie).
Though you did say League of Extraordinary Gentlemen so perhaps some of the Marvel films would do it. They are fairly humorous. Especially the Antman movies.
Outside of movies, there's a bunch of current cartoons on YouTube that are great, but without any kind of schedule for uploads like Helluva Boss and Digital Circus. Hazbin Hotel is starting January 19th on Amazon, too.
League of Gentlemen, not league of extraordinary gentlemen. If you haven't seen it, you're in for a treat. It's some of the raunchiest piss your pants stupid funny stuff you'll ever see. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0184135/
But thanks. I'll check out that YT stuff.
Well, that's why we get shotty comics nowadays. Ducktales, Darkwing Duck, Gummibears etc didn't have to be believable to be enjoyed...
There is a difference between a comic about talking ducks, and the post above.
Believable means it needs to be believable in the world established / within the context.
A porsche in the middle od a medieval / fantasy setting isn't believable, while a wizard casting spells is.
This post implies "this conversation happened in real life" which no, it didn't.
How about a Delorian in the wild west?
LOL... Beat me to it!
Thanks for proofing my point
Do you also watch scifi and fantasy movies and complain they're not real?
I literally made a comment under this one that explains this "gotcha". Read the entire thread before commenting.
Call me jaded, but whenever anyone shares some post/youtube/tiktok of someone telling some crazy story, I just never believe it unless they got the receipts. One video that lives rent-free in my head is called “Ghost in the Stalls”, it was shared by my friends in college and they all loved it and I’m over here just confused as to why they think it’s a real story. Even as a fake story it was not funny because it was full of not-so-clever punlines.
I feel like a crazy story can happen. Usually, the more outlandish it was, the more likely it was to happen.
When it takes a stoner 5 seconds to think that bud can be words for weed and friends. Then it's probably fake.
Source?
I didn't make it up
Source?
Woah I'm getting dizzy...
Then we are good to go!
Ghost in the Stalls
I searched for "Ghost in the Stalls" It's a video of a guy talking to the camera... I switched to the animated version, I don't know why I thought it could be funny at least more than the guy just talking... it wasn't.
I bet the guy is an aspiring writer, it's bad, don't waste your time.
I was there. I was the bud.
Damn what a bro, reaching out preemptively to see if you need to re-up.
Did you not get text messages when your dealer would re-up? Seems more believable to me than switching phones atleast.
My dealer advertised harder than coca cola back in the day. Every time he picked up it was and I quote "the best shit I have ever smelt"
