Source is from episode 168. It has been years since my wife and I watched through Naruto, but we still joke about this episode regularly. It was just so silly and so obviously filler that it was hilarious to us.

Is that the cooking competition?
It's filler, but at least it's not 90% flashbacks like some other episodes.

Yeah, this is the cooking competition against the Ninja Chefs.

I agree. This episode is probably one of my favorite filler episodes because of how silly they got with it, but it still felt consistent with the characters. I would rather see filler that is original content that is in character rather than a flashback-filled reminiscing episode where nothing happens.

Yea exactly, it's filler, but it's "good" filler instead on "nothing" filler.

Reminds me of a few dozen Ranma 1/2 episodes!

Naruto series has really funny and silly filler episodes. I really enjoyed watching fillers such as Star Country Arc, funeral ep, and the sea travelling filler episodes.

The sea traveling arc episode in which Naruto's clones gain free will and stage a small rebellion against him is another of my favorites (here). Similar to joking about the Ninja Chefs, my wife and I still joke about the Animal Suit Jutsu that episode introduced.
