I'm gonna be honest, I don't understand how anyone can think the styling of these basic Volkswagens, Fords and Toyotas matters.

I have never looked at a Renault Clio and thought "Yeah, that looks nice.".

It just doesn't look like much, and any of these hatchbacks and crossovers and family wagons that try really just end up looking like a dishwasher with swooshy panels and a pinstripe and a glossy chrome-painted part.

I'd kind of prefer it if they all were made using interchangeable parts, honestly. Sure you're sacrificing some individuality, but is there really any to sacrifice?
