I got the GOG version as well as having it on Steam. The GOG version has the controller support too as well as being ownable through have the installer files. I understand where I am on Lemmy here but the KOTOR games are some of my absolute favorites so I had no problem buying them again for a few dollars.

I also have the GOG version but it doesn't have controller support or higher resolution support. Did Aspyr's update made it to GOG?
Perhaps I am not thinking correctly then. I may have modded in that support or something, but it is possible for the GOG version because I just did a playthrough of both last year. But like I said maybe I had to do extra configuration to get it to work. YMMV.
Yeah, it doesn't look like the GOG version has it out of the box.
Check out https://gitlab.com/Mr_Goldberg/goldberg_emulator I use it all the time since the steam client keeps using more ram and my poor laptop is quite limited
This is interesting. Does this mean I can backup my game out of steam folder, replace the steam_api.dll and be able to just run this anytime without steam?
Yeah unless there is additional DRM
