I'm Immich, find a file that has an empty cloud icon (indicates a file on the server and not on your phone). The top bar shows 4 icons: heart, cloud with a down arrow inside it, plus sign, and info circle.
Click the cloud with the down arrow inside it to sync to your device.
Alternatively, the bottom bar also has your OS share button which offers another multitude of ways to download and send the photo.

Ahhh see I had everything backed up already. Shit. I should've tried it after deleting something. I figured it would find a button and be asked where I wanted to put the file. Share kinda works for that.
Tap the cloud button
There's a share button on the image to share to another app, and a download button as well if you just want to save to local storage.
Share button can export any photo. For photos only in the cloud there is a download button to sync to your device at the top when you open the picture.
I don't have the app but can't you share to your file manager?
Maybe the feature is just not implemented yet?
