Hey, is anyone aware of a method to filter chat by keyword? The in-game spam is ... absolutely incredible.

Some super basic keyword filters would cut down on 99% of it. Even better, if you could selectively ignore any message containing a URL, or a contract, or something like that.

It's SUPER weird that a, what, 20 year old game doesn't have this. It smacks of intention and makes chat completely unusable.

I only have local open to see if others are in the system.

Same but in systems where that matters people aren’t spamming in local. Unless a brave fleet is rolling through

Mattered a bit doing plexes in FW, gave us a slight heads up if we were about to be swarmed.

There is a way to filter specific keywords, though they will appear censored (****) instead of not showing up at all.

I cant find a guide but if you look around the chat settings you should find it

Remember that there used to be a full (but outdated) browser in game. So URLs in chat was and is sorta still a feature. However if your looking for old and lost conversations, you have a logs folder that contains all chats your client loads.

Beyond that, just ignore local near Jita, you will not find a more wretched hive of scum and villiany.

It is pretty bad. The worst part is the newbie NPC corps that are constantly spammed with referral links. Such a horrible introduction to the game. It would be trivial for CCP to stamp it out in game but they seem to be fine with it.
