I was suprised that none of the thrift stories had any teapots. Coffee machine pots sure, but no teapots. The third antique store had one that was the size I was looking for given I make tea for one. Its a brown betty I guess and its makers mark implies it is at least 50 years old.

Where was this? Here in Ware (Hertfordshire, UK in case you're abroad) there are loads of them. Just before coronation you couldn't find one anywhere. Now all the charity shops have 3 or 4. We have 5 charity shops in the High Street and another at the local recycling centre!

Im in Utah, USA. It always feels like when ever I am looking for something specific at a thrift shop there are none to be found. What was odd is that there are always tons of tea cups and saucers. It likely has something to do with coffee being the more popular form of caffine and yet every house seems always has a tea set and and a matching porcalain dinning set.

Same here :-) - this week we were looking for a small table to sit in the hallway. A couple of weeks ago there were lots of them, now nothing.
