Xi’s position on Gaza is identical to his stance on the world’s other major conflict, the war in Ukraine. There, too, Beijing has asserted principled neutrality and even launched a peace mission, while at the same time deepening ties to Russia and its president, Vladimir Putin.

Beijing seeks to exploit both of these crises in order to undermine the United States and promote its own global leadership. To this end, Xi backs the aggressor, blames the United States for the resulting disorder, and then portrays himself as the more responsible peacemaker

Isn't America the one that's two-faced? Defending the fight against a totalitarian regime in one, standing with a zionist apartheid regime in the other conflict?

Why shouldn’t they? The West made this mess, let them clean it up. America really doesn’t want China to be more proactive in the Middle East?

I think what the article outlines is that China is already making moves to be more globally proactive, but the moves they are making are hypocritical and destabilizing.

Let them. The US should stop policing the entire world and forcing this image of 'we are the good guys' on everyone.

Nobody is buying this shit anymore. I'm tired of the entire world having to walk around US ego politics. The world has changed and we moved on from the US.

The way I see it, they have no abortion rights, corruption all the way up and down the ladder, police killing black civilians just for the fun of it AND getting off, their supreme court judges are corrupt, their prisons are just there for slave labour, no basic healthcare, disgusting minimum wages, .... No basic human rights essentially for anyone that has no money or is surviving.

Maybe the US should look more inward for the baddies for the next century, clean up your mess and then condemn other countries that you know, are just different from you?

Look at what China is doing in the North China Sea. China would be just as bad for the world.

No no no , we are only allowed to pick one bad guy at a time. Once you've picked one , you're not allowed to speak honestly about your own team at all. They can do no wrong. /s

Yeah, no?

How about imperialists stay the fuck at home regardless of if they’re America or China.
