To set the right example:

I speak dutch (native); english (fluent); german, spanish, portuguese, french, esperanto (good); italian (adequate); russian (slightly below adequate); mandarin chinese (basic); arabic (very poorly)

I'm learning mostly russian and chinese, for many years already, but not in any formal setting and with for many years already. I like reading books in the other languages to keep them up.

Hello...
Originally english, moja żona mówi po polsku, mes enfants apprends le français à l'école, en een beetje nederlands. 我学到的最有趣的语言是中文 . я выучил много песен на русском языке, pero para cantar la lengua más alegre es el espanõl, е o mais divertido de se ouvir é o português. Anyway music 🎶 is a universal language, το ίδιο και τα μαθηματικά. But I spent too many years juggling java, until most recently learning scala. Now a citizen of nowhere, wondering what's next? I'd like to discuss future world pathways with people in Africa, or maybe India.

I speak English, Spanish, and Italian. I am trying to learn classical Latin because when I was in grad school I didn't pay attention because I didn't need it. After that, I want to learn Old Norse and Ancient Greek.

English is my first language and I am fluent in Vietnamese (I am vietnamese/canadian).

I am hoping to pick up Japanese and Korean next.

I just found this sub and it's really cool, I was thinking of making something similar but kinda forgot. Thanks for making the community!

I'm a native English speaker, know a bit of Spanish, and am studying Mandarin Chinese

Native English here. Have some passing familiarity with Spanish from back in school. With a recent dive into ancient cultures and mythologies, now I'm beginning to learn Old English so I can one day hopefully read and understand Beowulf in the way in which it was originally written. I'd also like to learn Old Norse for a similar reason and dive through the eddas and sagas. Hebrew, Greek, and Latin are all on my target list, too.

You mean more than one language can fit in your brain?! 🫠

English (native), Japanese & German (rookie?) I've been using Duolingo for about 4 years but am not that confident, and I have been thinking about trying Mandarin.

You may have to buy the necessary brain upgrade from your brain dealer, but generally multiple languages fit yeah 😉 It may get a bit confusing if they're very similar languages though, although I also find that that may help in retention of vocabulary.
