Thank you for the write up! It was very informative.

I hope I'm not imposing, but you seem knowledgeable. Could you recommend a resource for a beginner to learn about audio technology? I'm thinking of upgrading from my old PC speakers to a proper surround setup for my home and want to know what to look for in a quality product.

I guess I just meant something a little more precise than just left and right for directions you can hear audio from. I didn't realize this was more of a software thing. I don't know a whole lot about audio tech.

Hey all,

I'm looking for a decent pair of headphones around $100ish US. I would like the following:

  • Wired
  • A mic or a slot to put one
  • Some kind of spatial audio
  • Comfortable to wear for long periods
  • All features available without the use of proprietary software

The headphones will be driven by a desktop computer and used for communication, gaming, and listening to music. Can anyone here recommend something?

Arguing semantics, but updated.

My understanding is the woman in the camo pants would later pass fron her injuries, and the woman in white was treated at a hospital and survived. Although, this is the only source I could find and can't speak to it's authenticity.

I've been monitoring, there hasn't been a whole lot to do on our end though.

My Volcano is finally here! I've waited a long time to get one of these, and it's better than I ever thought it would be.

Governments need to get a grip on subscriptions in the automotive industry. This is getting out of hand and needs regulation.

I get where you're coming from but it makes sense to have equivalents for some of them. Like in this case, people are going to want a place to share and watch crazy/shocking videos.

Niche communities are what made Reddit fun/useful to me. It was really nice to have discourse with a community that liked the same video game, movie, hobby, political ideals, etc, that you did.

Guides and tutorials were the other big thing. I utilized and contributed guides on Reddit regularly. It was really nice to engage with a community to solve an issue rather than use some AI generated or ad ridden article.

I hope to see Lemmy fill these gaps and it seems it has the potential to do so.
