In chapter 385 Lucci states

You learn the name of the fruit when you gain its power

so why did Luffy not learn the name of the Human-Human Fruit, Model: Nika after eating it?
or did he mean you name the fruit yourself after learning of its abilities?

Replying to a 6 month old post, but...
Luffy we see just walking around is not transformed at all. Anytime luffy is stretching, he's in the combo form. Than there's gear 5.
I don't remember the old fleet admiral having a combo form, but I'm not sure if it really matters. There's rules in one-piece, but they get broken. It's not as bad as Jojo in that regard, but it's still a thing

We see no change in his appearance besides the stretching when he is in base though which is weird. Which is different than any other zoan we've seen.

Like you said though, it is a minor thing.
