You could dig one...
If you have trouble getting rid of the soil, dig another tunnel and put the dirt down that.
An excellent suggestion sir, with just two minor drawbacks.
...and one easy solution: a third tunnel.
And the soil from the third?
Believe it or not: fourth tunnel.
