Seymour is following in Trump's footsteps in attacking the press. it won't be long before he uses the phrase "enemy of the people" and "fake news".

It's going to be a tough three years for the press under relentless pressure from the government to only report positive news about them.

This is actually very concerning. Both NZF and ACT are jumping on the press-bashing bandwagon. I really hope we, as a country, don't put up with this kind of bullshit.

Not to mention Seymour's a massive hypocrite:

Just one year ago

ACT leader David Seymour said Allan should have remembered she is always on duty, especially given the heightened awareness of the Cabinet manual since the sacking of Stuart Nash.

"There is a real problem when the people who hold the purse strings aren't absolutely critically cautious about even the perception of interfering with media," Seymour said.

"Nobody loses their democracy all at once, it's always a thousand little chips and we don't want to see them. It's good she's apologised, but I can't believe she did it."

He can be more than one thing. I'm sure he's that too among other things.

We are putting up with it though. He wouldn't do it if it wasn't resonating with the public.
