Hurling ordure at the TREACLES, especially those closely related to LessWrong.

AI-Industrial-Complex grift is fine as long as it sufficiently relates to the AI doom from the TREACLES. (Though TechTakes may be more suitable.)

This is sneer club, not debate club. Unless it's amusing debate.

[Especially don't debate the race scientists, if any sneak in - we ban and delete them as unsuitable for the server.]

@sneerclub

Greetings!

Roko called, just to say he's filed a trademark on Basilisk™ and will be coming after anyone who talks about it for licensing fees which will go into his special Basilisk™ Immanetization Fund and if we don't pay up we'll burn in AI hell forever once the Basilisk™ wakes up and gets around to punishing us.

Also, if you see your mom, be sure and tell her SATAN!!!!—

@cstross @sneerclub In response to the recent actions by Roko we are proud to announce the formation of OpenBasilisk which will be distributed under the MIT license. Find us on GitHub!

I am required to point out that OpenBasilisk’s open source code is actually just a small stub library that calls into their paid torment-as-a-service API

@SvenGeier @self @xorn This is a much better model. Distributed Denial of Salvation.

@xorn @cstross @sneerclub Still a lock-in problem. I recommend the Fedilisk.

@xorn @cstross @sneerclub Is this a genuine project, or is it just a rebranding of the existing OpenTormentNexus codebase?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 year ago

@FenTiger @cstross @sneerclub OpenBasilisk provides its own TormentNexus as well as using the DaNTe library to provide compatibility with popular TormentNexus backends such as OpenTormentNexus, RogueFarm, and LamENT-BKR.

First time users are encouraged to follow our detailed tutorials when using a new TormentNexus. In particular, new users are often surprised by the hooks in the LamENT configuration.
