Iirc it was because the way we used to hide posts older than 3 months was screwing with their data collection so it looked like there was a sharp increase 3 months before the paper was published
Yeah I think that's right also. It's still both very funny and extremely rad that we got the callout.
Of course we were hiding it, the poor database optimization was just a cover story.
