It's time for us professors who study #data #surveillance #infosec #internetgovernance #privacy to start hassling our university IT departments whenever they integrate extractive platforms into our professional workflow.

Update 2:

Someone from IT reached out to me on MSFT Teams to see whether we could discuss. I got an automated email about the message.

I don't use Teams. I tried responding to the email, but the originating address was a noreply designed to coerce you to use the app.

I went to look up her email address on the AU site, which required six CAPTCHAs.

The good news is we finally spoke, and they're asking the vendor to stop horking up our data. ๐Ÿ†
