I thought they made the decision to hold it on the last Saturday of January precisely to avoid taking "sides". I don't really want to argue, this is just my observation.

I think it is taking sides because it's already a government sanctioned national holiday. So the moment they move off of it, they're taking a side.

Doing nothing and not mentioning it is not taking a side.

Those acts however often have lots of other cool songs!
