Nothing new, and it might also have nothing to do with having stainless steel on sight... The Model 3 has the same exact warnings, at least the ones sold in Europe do.

My Subaru has similar warnings in its manual.

To help prevent corrosion
Wash the vehicle regularly to prevent corrosion of the body and suspension components. Also, wash the vehicle promptly after driving on any of the following surfaces.
. roads that have been salted to prevent them from freezing in winter
. mud, sand, or gravel
. coastal roads

So let's write the headline:

Subaru: You'll Have to Wipe Dirt off your Crosstrek ASAP to avoid Corrosion

Look, I did a journalism!

it seems they didn't coat the stainless steel with paint, which is a mistake and that's why there's this news article.

Are you saying that the Model 3 is unpainted?

Well, it is, and it's painted in organic paint, which is much more delicate than traditional paints, and that's why that statement is also found in Model 3's user manuals as well.

While I don't have anything to quote, I am wondering if perhaps the Cybertruck actually does have a layer of organic paint which is either transparent or just stainless-steel colored.

Ps. This is not the hill I'll die on. I am not much of a Tesla fan and my experience about it comes from a close friend of mine's Model 3. I only wanted to make it clear that this is not a Cybertruck exclusive warning and thus I believe it has nothing to do with the stainless steel being exposed.

it's in the second line of the article:

Tesla chose to leave its stainless steel exterior unpainted.

That's right, but as I said, I'm not much of a Tesla fan, which is why I don't really care much for that, and I don't believe I'll see many CTs in Europe anyways.

No matter what, my point still stands, that warning has been around for a while on Model 3's.
