Tbh the ashes one was entirely new on me, cheers! But yeah I was aware of the fallout stuff.

You're spot on with the note at the end, I'm aware and glad that a few still seem to happen. But yeah I remember a time about 15 years ago when any remotely popular PC game would have a decent selection of total conversion mods, I spent hundreds of hours playing C&C, Civ, HL & diablo total conversions back then and it seemed like some new ones would show up for those games every month (obviously there was a lot of crap).

Seems more exceptional to see them released these days, especially as you mention, many fizzle out before the first release
