Thanks for the heads up. I’ve played them on Xbox a while back, but didn’t realize they were Steam Deck verified (well, technically just playable for the first one). Would be a lot of fun to play on the deck.

they should be fine. they run on Source. the first game is a bit redundant these days, as all the content was added to the second game.

Don't you need the first game to play all of the first games campaigns on the second? Or were they just added for free?

They're just added for free. I only have the second one but I've played the first through it endless times.

Maybe with a mod, but not natively. The characters have a ton of incidental dialogue specific to levels, Valve wouldn't just add the other game's characters into the other game, you'd lose a lot of dialog charm.

Valve makes both the games and the deck. They've done a great job making sure their own titles run well on the deck.
